The debate amongst football pundits on Manchester United’s woes is back on for yet another season. Is it the manager, the tactics, or the formation? All relevant questions, but the truth is the issues at Manchester United go far beyond who stands on the touchline or the formation on the day.
The club has appointed manager after manager since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson, all with differing philosophies and tactics. There have been large gaps of time with no clear footballing vision, solid sporting leadership, or accountability. All that has resulted is a lack of coherence. There has been criticism regarding the mentality of the players. It seems like United has moments of struggle during moments of high pressure. It will take faith, and if that faith can be instilled throughout every level in the club, it will lead to the challenging times that are ahead so that the Red Devils may become a Premier League powerhouse once again.
